 Treblinka Visitor’s Center, Poland

Chairman Miller proposed creating a visitors’ center adjacent to the Treblinka death camp site to a senior Polish government official, who agreed. The center would include a permanent exhibit at the site where 850,000 Jews were murdered in less than nine months. Then-commission Member David Burke raised $1 million from Michael Vlock and Karen Pritzker fro the project. Despite Commission efforts, Polish officials have not moved forward on the project.
