 Armenia Genocide Memorial

After a Holocaust monument in the center of Armenia’s capital of Yerevan was vandalized, local Jewish groups decided to replace it with a memorial to the Ottoman massacres of Armenians as well as to the Nazi killing of Jews.

The Commission, due to the efforts of Member Andrew Klein, provided the additional funding that the groups needed for the memorial.

The basalt and bronze monument was unveiled in October 2006, with representatives of the Government of Armenia and Armenian Diaspora groups participating and local news coverage.
